We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Operations Manager to oversee and improve the day-to-day delivery of our business operations. This is a key leadership role for a highly organised professional who can balance operational performance, customer service, cost control, compliance, and team development.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure that processes are efficient, resources are used effectively, and operational objectives are consistently achieved. You will bring a practical, data-informed approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage daily operational activity, ensuring services and processes are delivered safely, efficiently, and to agreed standards.
- Develop and implement operational plans that support business objectives, customer commitments, and sustainable growth.
- Monitor operational performance against key performance indicators, including productivity, quality, cost, service levels, and compliance.
- Identify inefficiencies, risks, and bottlenecks, and implement practical improvements to strengthen performance.
- Manage, coach, and develop operational teams, setting clear expectations and fostering a positive, accountable working environment.
- Oversee resource planning, staffing, scheduling, and budget management to ensure effective use of people, equipment, and materials.
- Work collaboratively with finance, commercial, customer service, supply chain, quality, and other teams to resolve operational issues and improve end-to-end delivery.
- Maintain and improve operational procedures, policies, systems, and reporting processes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety requirements, quality standards, internal policies, and regulatory obligations.
- Investigate operational incidents, service failures, and recurring issues, coordinating corrective actions and monitoring outcomes.
- Support the introduction of new systems, products, services, and process changes.
- Prepare clear management reports on operational performance, risks, improvement initiatives, and resource requirements.
- Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and external partners where required.
- Champion continuous improvement, customer focus, and operational excellence across the organisation.
About You
- Proven experience in an Operations Manager, Business Operations Manager, Service Delivery Manager, or similar leadership role.
- Strong experience managing teams and improving operational processes in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrable ability to manage budgets, resources, performance metrics, and operational priorities.
- Sound understanding of health and safety, quality management, compliance, and risk controls.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a practical and commercially aware approach.
- Strong people-management skills, including coaching, performance management, and team development.
- Confidence working with data, reporting tools, and performance measures to drive informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- The ability to remain calm, organised, and effective when managing competing priorities.
- Experience with continuous-improvement methodologies, such as Lean or Six Sigma, would be advantageous.
- A relevant qualification in business, operations, management, logistics, or a related discipline is desirable.
