Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Catering Engineer to join our team, dedicated to ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of catering equipment and facilities. As a Catering Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of catering machinery, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and contributing to the overall efficiency of our catering operations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on all catering equipment, including ovens, refrigeration units, dishwashers, and air conditioning systems.
- Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics and technical manuals, then execute repairs promptly to minimize downtime.
- Lead maintenance projects by coordinating with contractors and construction teams when upgrades or installations are required.
- Repair and service complex equipment, ensuring all machinery operates safely and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment status for compliance and future reference.
- Oversee the installation of new equipment, ensuring adherence to technical specifications and safety protocols.
- Provide technical guidance and leadership to junior team members or contractors during maintenance tasks.
Experience
- Proven experience in mechanical maintenance or engineering within a catering or hospitality environment.
- Experience of CAFM system & Ostara app preferred however training will be provided.
- Strong knowledge of schematics, technical manuals, and troubleshooting procedures for catering equipment.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to supervise maintenance teams or coordinate with external contractors.
- Hands-on experience in repairing diverse catering machinery such as refrigeration systems, ovens, dishwashers, and air conditioning units.
- Construction experience is advantageous for understanding facility upgrades or modifications related to catering spaces.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations relevant to food service environments.
