We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of complex engineering projects. You will be responsible for project execution, commercial performance, contract management, and client engagement, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Working closely with engineering, operational, and commercial teams, you will provide technical leadership, oversee the development of innovative engineering solutions, and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders. This role offers the opportunity to manage high-value projects, support business growth, and drive excellence in project delivery.
Location – Hinkley Point, Bridgwater
What You’ll do
- Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of complex engineering projects, managing technical, operational, and commercial activities from tender award through to completion.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while adhering to company processes and HSEQ requirements.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders, leading technical and commercial discussions throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage project contracts, budgets, forecasts, procurement activities, and change control processes to maximise project performance and profitability.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial, operational, technical, and HSE risks, ensuring effective risk management across all project phases.
- Provide technical leadership and oversight, ensuring engineering deliverables, procedures, and project documentation are completed, reviewed, and maintained to the highest standard.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, supporting tendering activities, repeat business opportunities, and wider business development initiatives.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience managing complex engineering projects, with full accountability for technical delivery, commercial performance, and operational execution.
- Strong track record of delivering projects safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Commercially astute, with experience managing project budgets, forecasting costs, controlling expenditure, and maximising project profitability.
- Skilled in contract management, procurement, and change control, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks and opportunities at an early stage.
- Ability to lead technical and commercial discussions with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders, building strong and lasting working relationships.
- Strong engineering background with an understanding of project engineering processes, technical documentation, risk assessments, method statements, and delivery requirements.
- Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and drive successful project outcomes.
- Experience supporting tender submissions, proposal development, and business development activities within a project-focused environment.
