Job summary
Applications are invited from motivated and reliable individuals to join the team at Parklands Hospital as an Patient's Bank Cashier within the Site Management Team.
This is a part-time role (16 hours per week, Monday to Friday).
The role involves providing an accurate, efficient, and confidential service managing patient monies, property, and income. Duties include maintaining financial records, handling cash, responding to enquiries from patients, relatives and staff, and supporting reception services as required.
The postholder will work both independently and as part of a team, following Trust financial procedures and demonstrating a high level of professionalism. Strong communication skills and experience working with the public in a sensitive and respectful manner are essential, along with experience of finance or cash handling.
Candidates must demonstrate accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines, alongside behaviours aligned to the Trust's CARE values: Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence.

Main duties, tasks & skills required
Provide an efficient and confidential service managing patient monies and accounts, including opening, crediting and debiting accounts.
Receive and process income from multiple sources, ensuring accurate recording and banking in line with Trust procedures.
Maintain accurate financial records, including daily cashing up and petty cash reconciliation.
Safely receive, record and return patients' property, following strict security procedures.
Raise cheques up to 3,000 in accordance with financial controls (no ordering responsibilities).
Respond to enquiries from patients, relatives, wards and departments regarding financial and property matters.
Maintain computerised accounts and ensure timely, accurate data entry.
Support reception duties as required and undertake ad hoc tasks delegated by the Site Manager.
Work independently within defined procedures, ensuring compliance with Trust financial instructions and CARE values.
