About the Role
We are recruiting Bank Residential Support Workers to join our small children's residential home supporting young people with emotional and behavioural needs.
This role is ideal for individuals seeking flexible work arrangements while contributing to a safe, stable and supportive environment for young people. Bank staff provide additional support across the service and may cover annual leave, sickness, vacancies and changes in operational needs.
You will work as part of an established team to provide day to day care, support routines and help maintain a positive and structured environment.
Shift availability will vary based on the needs of the service and flexibility is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the day to day care and routines of young people
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of young people
- Support behaviour management and de-escalation
- Build positive and professional relationships with young people
- Maintain accurate and timely records
- Support education, activities and independent living skills
- Work as part of a team to maintain a safe and structured environment
- Follow care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures
- Contribute to handovers and communicate effectively with colleagues
- Support young people to achieve positive outcomes
What We're Looking For
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (desirable)
- Experience within children's residential care settings desirable
- Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Strong communication skills
- Emotional resilience and a calm approach
- Flexible and reliable approach to work
