Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Bakery Assistant to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food production and baking, with a keen eye for food safety and quality. The Bakery Assistant will support daily operations, assist with food preparation, and ensure that all products meet our high standards of excellence.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and baking of a variety of baked goods, and cakes.
- Support the food production process by measuring ingredients accurately and following recipes precisely.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and bakery areas in accordance with food safety standards.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including mixers, ovens, and other baking tools.
- Ensure all baked products are prepared to the specified quality standards before presentation or sale.
- Follow health and safety regulations diligently to maintain a safe working environment.
- Assist with stock control by checking inventory levels and notifying management of shortages or expiry dates.
- Contribute to a positive team environment by supporting colleagues during busy periods.
Experience
- Previous experience in food production, food preparation or cooking is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
- Experience working in a kitchen or restaurant setting is advantageous.
- Knowledge of baking techniques and culinary practices is preferred.
- Familiarity with food safety protocols and hygiene standards is beneficial.
- A genuine interest in baking and culinary arts, coupled with a proactive attitude towards learning new skills.
