Are you passionate about supporting young people and helping them overcome barriers to learning?
We are currently looking for a Student Support Worker to join an educational setting in Oldham, starting in September 2026.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in youth work, education, sports coaching, pastoral support, behaviour support, mentoring or similar roles who wants to develop their career while making a genuine difference to young people's lives.
As a Student Support Worker, you will provide positive, consistent and practical support to students, helping them engage with education and develop their confidence, behaviour and personal skills.
Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting students on a one-to-one and small-group basis

Building positive and trusting relationships with young people

Encouraging students to engage positively with learning
-
Supporting students with social, emotional and behavioural needs
-
Helping students manage challenges and develop positive coping strategies
-
Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging students to make good choices
-
Supporting students who may struggle with motivation, attendance or engagement
-
Helping young people develop confidence, independence and communication skills
-
Working closely with teaching, pastoral and support staff

Supporting students during lessons, activities and less structured periods of the day

Responding calmly and appropriately to challenging situations

Providing encouragement, structure and consistency throughout the school day
