Community Support Worker – Colchester
Temporary September Cover with Permanent Weekend Hours Available
Moving Forward Essex is looking for a reliable and friendly Community Support Worker to support an adult in Colchester.
Temporary cover is required between 7 and 22 September 2026 for approximately 2.5 hours each morning while the regular support worker is on holiday.
Permanent weekend hours are also available:
- Three hours each morning
- One hour each evening
The role involves supporting the individual to access the community and attend activities or appointments, such as the gym, hair appointments and other places he chooses to visit.
There is no personal care involved.
Main duties:
- Providing friendly and reliable community support
- Transporting and accompanying the individual to activities and appointments
- Encouraging choice, confidence and independence
- Maintaining professional boundaries
- Completing brief support records after each visit
Applicants must:
- Hold a full UK driving licence
- Have access to a reliable vehicle with business-use insurance
- Be dependable, patient and person-centred
- Ideally already hold an Enhanced DBS certificate registered with the DBS Update Service, due to the short notice
- Provide their DBS certificate and consent to an online status check
- Have good communication and record-keeping skills
Previous support-work experience is preferred, although reliability and the right attitude are equally important.

Pay: £14 per hour
Start date: 7 September 2026
