A brand-new opportunity has opened up in our software testing team. We are responsible for providing software testing services for our internal and external clients. We primarily work collaboratively, as part of larger cross-functional teams, to deliver project-based testing activities and scheduled software releases that support the ongoing security and stability of our systems. The role offers a diverse range of responsibilities, requiring us to adapt to evolving technologies, including test automation, while also responding to legislative and regulatory changes to ensure systems continue to operate effectively and meet business requirements.
Duties will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Conduct functional and non-functional testing activities for scheduled system releases, while taking a lead role in assigned projects delivered through DevOps, Agile, or Waterfall methodologies. Produce and maintain key testing deliverables, including test plans, schedules, test cases, test scripts, and associated test artefacts.
Collaborate closely with development teams, business analysts, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure testing requirements are clearly defined, understood, and aligned with business and client needs. Provide recommendations on test scope, approach, resource requirements, and effort estimates.
Utilise JIRA to manage workloads, track progress, prioritise activities, and effectively plan upcoming testing work.
Lead the identification, logging, management, and resolution of defects through to successful closure, producing regular defect reporting and status updates for a range of stakeholders.
Develop, maintain, schedule, and execute both manual and automated test scripts to support the delivery of high-quality software solutions.
Contribute to the evaluation, adoption, and continuous improvement of testing methodologies, tools, and best practices across the testing function.
Build and maintain positive and effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Manage and prioritise workload effectively, ensuring activities are delivered in line with agreed processes, service standards, project timelines, and organisational targets.
To be considered for the role, you will need to demonstrate the following:
Proven experience of leading and coordinating testing activities across a range of projects, including test planning, execution, defect management, reporting, and formal test sign-off.
Strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices, with the ability to demonstrate how effective testing contributes to the delivery of high-quality systems and services.
Demonstrable experience in producing and maintaining testing documentation and deliverables, including test plans, schedules, test scripts, test assets, and other test artefacts.
Experience working with ERP platforms, such as Oracle Fusion, Workday, or SAP.
Prior knowledge of JIRA or similar work management tools to plan, prioritise, and track testing activities and project deliverables.
Track record of delivering work to agreed deadlines and successfully achieve project milestones within a dynamic environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical and non-technical information clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent qualification) or able to demonstrate equivalent relevant professional experience.
ISTQB Qualification highly desirable
