Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Out of Hours Cremator Operator to join our team. This role involves operating cremation equipment during non-standard hours to ensure smooth and respectful management of cremation processes. The successful candidate will play a vital part in maintaining the dignity and efficiency of our services, working primarily during evenings, nights, or weekends as required. Heavy lifting may be involved, and a professional attitude towards sensitive responsibilities is essential.
Duties
- Operate cremation equipment safely and efficiently during designated out-of-hours periods
- Ensure all procedures are carried out in accordance with regulatory standards and company policies
- Monitor the cremation process from start to finish, maintaining respectful conduct at all times
- Conduct routine checks and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal functioning
- Record detailed logs of each cremation process, adhering to strict confidentiality and accuracy standards
- Assist with cleaning and sanitising equipment and work areas following each operation
- Respond promptly to any technical issues or emergencies that may arise during shifts
- Follow health and safety protocols diligently, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Experience
- Previous experience working with heavy lifting is preferred but not essential; training will be provided where necessary
- Experience in a sensitive environment or handling delicate procedures is advantageous
- Ability to work independently during out-of-hours shifts with minimal supervision
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are required to maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with regulations
- A respectful attitude towards clients and colleagues is crucial given the nature of the role
