Due to continued growth and expansion, we are currently seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our clients existing team based in their West Yorkshire office.
You will be working on a variety of railway civil engineering and general civil engineering schemes valued from roughly £300k up to £2.5M with duties consisting of:
Develop client relationships by maintaining regular contact and meetings
Monitor contract costs against agreed budgets
Monitor contract compliance against statutory requirements, ensuring all contract correspondence is recorded
Supply relevant commercial information and reports to the Senior QS and Commercial Manager for review, such as CVR's, periodic valuations/ applications and cash flow forecasting.
Identify potential financial risks and evaluate options to mitigate these
Produce, submit and agree final accounts in accordance with contractual requirements
Liaise with the Supply Chain for the procurement, negotiation and placing of subcontract and supplier orders
Oversee the procedures for certification of contract payments/variations and settle final accounts to sub-contractors, in line with agreed terms and conditions
Person Specification:
The perfect candidate will have:
BSc Quantity Surveying (or similar) - Essential
A minimum of 2-3 years' experience working within a contracting environment - Essential
The ability to work on own initiative and unsupervised - Essential
General knowledge of NEC forms of contract - Desirable
Experience with Civil Engineering in the Rail Sector - Desirable
The ability to manage a fast paced, high volume turnover of orders, with high standards of project performance and customer satisfaction
Excellent communication skills and the confidence to engage with stakeholders
An enthusiastic attitude and ability to hit the ground running
Prioritises well and works effectively to deadlines
