About the Role:
Bristol has become one of the United Kingdom's leading centres for engineering, manufacturing, and agricultural innovation, and at Minda Kubota Engineering & Farm Solutions Ltd, we help businesses keep their equipment operating at peak performance through dependable engineering expertise and responsive field support. We believe that exceptional field service goes beyond repairing machinery—it's about building trust, minimizing downtime, and helping customers maximize productivity.
We are looking for a Field Service Engineer who can take ownership of the installation, maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of agricultural and industrial equipment across customer sites. You won't simply respond to service calls; you'll become the trusted technical expert customers rely on to keep their operations running efficiently. You'll work independently in the field while collaborating closely with our technical support and engineering teams to deliver practical, long-lasting solutions.
Why Work With Us?
The Variety: Every day brings a different challenge. You'll work across a wide range of customer sites, diagnosing faults, carrying out preventative maintenance, installing equipment, and solving complex technical issues that keep businesses moving.
Technical Support: Although you'll enjoy the independence of field work, you'll always have the backing of an experienced engineering team. We invest in modern diagnostic equipment, technical resources, and continuous manufacturer-supported training.
Career Development: We believe great engineers never stop learning. Whether you're looking to expand your technical expertise or progress into senior engineering, technical specialist, or service management roles, we'll support your professional growth.
Quality Equipment: We provide the tools, technology, and service resources you need to perform your work safely, efficiently, and to the highest professional standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Equipment Maintenance: Perform planned preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing on agricultural and industrial machinery to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
Fault Diagnosis: Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic faults using modern diagnostic tools and proven troubleshooting techniques.
Repairs & Installations: Carry out repairs, component replacements, equipment installations, and commissioning activities both in the workshop and at customer locations.
Customer Support: Build strong relationships with customers by providing professional technical advice, explaining repair recommendations, and delivering exceptional service during every visit.
Documentation: Complete service reports, maintenance records, inspection documentation, and parts usage accurately while ensuring compliance with company procedures.
What We Are Looking For:
Experience: Previous experience as a Field Service Engineer, Service Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Agricultural Engineer, Plant Engineer, or a similar hands-on engineering role involving customer site visits.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel-powered equipment, with excellent diagnostic and fault-finding abilities.
Qualifications: A relevant engineering qualification or equivalent practical industry experience is preferred. Additional manufacturer certifications are advantageous but not essential.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly to customers and colleagues.
Mindset: You enjoy solving problems independently, take pride in delivering high-quality workmanship, and remain calm under pressure while managing multiple service priorities. You are safety-conscious, customer-focused, and committed to continuous improvement.
