At Starling Homecare, we are a family-run service built on the belief that care should feel personal, consistent, and thoughtful. Not rushed. Not transactional. Done properly.
That shows in the way we support our clients, and in the way we support our team.
We are now looking for a Deputy Care Manager who wants to be part of building something with high standards from the ground up.
What makes this role different
You won’t be stepping into a tired, overrun service.
You’ll be working closely with the Registered Manager to shape how things are done day to day. The culture, the expectations, and the standard of care people come to rely on.
We take a quieter, more considered approach. The kind where quality speaks for itself.
You’ll have real input. Real responsibility. And the space to do things properly.
What the role looks like in reality
This is a hands-on leadership role.
Some days you’ll be reviewing care plans and supporting the team.
Some days you’ll be solving problems, covering gaps, or responding to something unexpected.
Some days you’ll be out in the community, building relationships and representing the service.
If you like variety, responsibility, and being relied on, you’ll feel at home here.
What we’re looking for
We’re not just looking for experience. We’re looking for the right mindset.
Someone who stays calm when things get busy, takes initiative instead of waiting to be told, supports their team while maintaining standards, and genuinely cares about doing things properly.
You’ll likely already be working as a Senior Coordinator, Supervisor, or Deputy Manager in domiciliary care and be ready for a role where you can step up further.
What you’ll need
- Experience in a leadership role within homecare
- Strong understanding of CQC standards and care delivery
- Confidence with care plans, risk assessments, and audits
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Willingness to take part in on-call
Qualifications
- Level 3 Health and Social Care
Desirable but not essential
- Level 4 or Level 5 in Leadership for Health and Social Care (completed or working towards)
Why people join us
We are independently owned and family-run, which means decisions are made with care.
We value consistency, trust, and doing things properly. That applies to how we care for clients and how we treat our team.
You’ll be part of a service where standards matter, where people support each other, and where there is genuine opportunity to grow as the business grows.
The reality
This role comes with responsibility.
There will be days where things don’t go to plan. You’ll need to think on your feet, support your team, and step in when needed.
But if you take pride in your work and want to be part of building something you can stand behind, this is the kind of role that’s worth it.
