Apprenticeship Central are recruiting an Apprentice Autocare Technician to join a supportive team. You’ll gain practical skills, hands-on experience, and a nationally recognised Level 2 qualification. No prior experience is needed, just curiosity, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn!
Apprenticeship Details:
Duration: 24 months
Pay: £8.00 per hour in year 1, rising to the national wage for your age from year 2
Hours: Monday to Friday 08:00-16:00
Training & Support:
- Block Release
- On-the-job guidance from an experienced team and allocated workplace mentor
- Visits from a training provider coach every 6–8 weeks
- Additional support from a RETAIN Manager at Apprenticeship Central

What You’ll Do:
As an Apprentice Autocare Technician, you’ll assist and learn across a variety of tasks in the garage, including:
- Learn how to carry out vehicle servicing to manufacturer guidelines to ensure optimal performance
- Assist with maintenance work, including replacing worn or damaged parts before they fail
- Support repair work by helping diagnose faults and fix vehicle issues
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify mechanical and electrical problems
- Inspect and prepare vehicles ready for servicing and repair work
- Remove, repair, and replace vehicle components to manufacturer specifications
- Help maintain a safe working environment by following health and safety procedures
- Carry out basic admin tasks such as updating job cards and supporting quotes and estimates
Requirements:
- GCSE (or equivalent) English – Grade 4/C or above
- GCSE (or equivalent) Maths – Grade 4/C or above

- Positive attitude and good work ethic
- Works well in a team and communicates clearly
- Basic IT skills
- Reliable travel to and from the workplace
