About the Role
We are looking for a Quality Control / Production Operator to join our manufacturing team.
This is a hands-on role combining quality control and inspection responsibilities with production duties, helping us to ensure that our products are manufactured safely, accurately and consistently to the required standards.
Attention to detail is absolutely essential for this role. We are looking for someone who is naturally methodical, accurate and thorough; someone who notices when something isn't right, takes pride in getting things right first time and is confident raising quality concerns when required.
You will carry out quality checks across the production process, checking materials, components and finished products against specifications and identifying any defects or non-conformances. You will also support the wider production team when required, carrying out general production and manufacturing activities.
This would suit someone with experience in quality control, inspection, manufacturing or production who enjoys a practical role and has a strong eye for detail.
What You'll Be Doing
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out detailed quality inspections on materials, components, work in progress and finished products.
- Checking products against specifications, manufacturing documentation, work instructions and required quality standards.
- Measuring dimensions and checking products against required tolerances using appropriate measuring equipment.
- Identifying defects, discrepancies and non-conforming products.
- Rejecting or quarantining products that do not meet the required specification and escalating concerns appropriately.
- Completing quality checks, inspection records and associated documentation accurately.
- Maintaining accurate records to support product and material traceability.
- Carrying out in-process quality checks to identify potential issues before products reach final assembly or despatch.
- Checking that measuring and inspection equipment is suitable and within calibration before use.
- Working with Production, Quality and Engineering colleagues to resolve quality issues.
- Highlighting recurring defects or quality concerns and contributing to improvements in processes and working methods.
- Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safe systems of work and manufacturing instructions.
- Supporting production activities when required, including cutting, machining, assembly and handling of aluminium glazing systems.
- Working safely and using the correct PPE at all times.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment in line with 5S principles.
- Supporting continuous improvement activities across the manufacturing operation.

- Previous experience within a manufacturing, production, quality or inspection environment.
- GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths.
Desirable
It would be advantageous if you have:
- Previous experience in a Quality Control or Quality Inspection role.
- Experience using measuring equipment such as verniers, callipers and gauges.
- Experience reading manufacturing or engineering drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of quality systems or ISO 9001.
- Experience identifying and recording non-conformances.
- Knowledge of root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Experience within an engineering, fabrication, aluminium or glazing manufacturing environment.
- Experience using ERP or manufacturing systems.
