At Oakhurst, a warm, nurturing, and supportive children’s home run by Nottinghamshire County Council, we are looking for a compassionate and committed individual to join our team as a Night Care Worker.
Oakhurst is a specialist home providing 24-hour care for children and young people who need stability, understanding, and encouragement. As a Wake Night Worker, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, calm, and secure environment where children can rest, feel valued, and continue to thrive. You’ll work as part of a dedicated and skilled team, supporting children with complex and sometimes challenging behaviours.

As a Wake Night Worker, your key responsibilities will include:

Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people during the night and to support them to get ready for the day ahead.

Ensure the safety and well-being of all children and young people in the home.

Respond to the individual needs of children and young people, including managing challenging behaviours.

Work collaboratively with your team to create a nurturing environment.

Maintain accurate records and documentation as required.

Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills.
To excel in this role, you will need:

At least 6 months of experience working in a childcare setting.

NVQ Level 3/Diploma in Residential Childcare is preferred; if not held, you will be required to undertake this qualification.

Understanding of child development and the ability to support children with various needs.

Working Hours and Benefits

This role involves working shifts from 9.45pm - 7.45am

You will receive enhanced pay for weekend working- time and a half on Saturdays and double time on Sundays.
