This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Bed Manager within the Neurosciences department at University Hospital Southampton (UHS). You will play a key role in coordinating patient flow and bed capacity across the department, helping to ensure that patients receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time.
Working closely with clinical and operational colleagues, you will oversee the effective allocation and management of beds, responding proactively to changing demands and supporting the safe and timely movement of patients through the hospital and regionally. Your contribution will be essential in maintaining patient safety, improving patient experience and supporting the efficient use of available resources.
The role will have a direct impact on the delivery of high-quality neurosciences services by supporting effective capacity management, reducing delays and ensuring that operational pressures are identified and managed promptly. You will work collaboratively with ward teams, medical staff, site management and other departments to facilitate excellent patient flow and continuity of care.
You will report to the relevant operational/clinical management lead within Neurosciences and will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, building strong working relationships across the department and wider organisation. This is an opportunity to make a visible and meaningful contribution to the delivery of safe, effective and patient-centred care at UHS.

We believe that using technology wisely shows strong time management and commitment to innovation. However, personalising your recruitment application to highlight your unique skills and experiences is crucial. Relying too heavily on generic, AI-generated content instead of drawing from your own strengths and accomplishments may lead to your application being rejected if multiple candidates present identical or similar information.
