Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Despatch Supervisor to lead our shipping and receiving operations. In this vital role, you will oversee daily dispatch activities, manage warehouse processes, and ensure timely, accurate delivery of products. Your leadership will help maintain high standards of safety, efficiency, and quality across our logistics operations.
Duties
- Supervise the dispatch team to ensure smooth and efficient shipping and receiving processes
- Coordinate materials handling activities, including heavy lifting and forklift operations, to optimise workflow
- Oversee warehouse inventory entries for accurate order processing and inventory control
- Implement process improvements to enhance productivity, safety, and accuracy in dispatch operations
- Manage shipping documentation, including labels
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during all warehouse activities
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse management, logistics, or distribution environments with a focus on shipping & receiving
- Strong materials handling skills with mechanical knowledge of forklifts and heavy lifting techniques
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems
- Excellent team management abilities to lead, motivate, and develop staff effectively
- Knowledge of process improvement methodologies to optimize operational workflows
- Experience working in a warehouse setting with heavy lifting requirements
- Good understanding of logistics principles related to shipping schedules, inventory control, and freight documentation
Pay: £30,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
