The Sustainable Travel Worker will deliver a programme of activities that supports university staff, students and community members, including school children, to make active travel choices during their commute and everyday journeys. The role will focus on cycling activities and undertake promotions through events and media to increase uptake whilst coordinating and delivering cycling training and cycle maintenance sessions. It will also facilitate access to bikes, especially for those in need, through managing a refurbished bike loan library and the donation of bikes to individuals. It will support a team of volunteers that help deliver cycle maintenance and training.
To fill the position of Sustainable Travel Worker, Transition University of St Andrews requires a highly motivated individual who can work independently and as part of a team. They must have the ability to engage and inspire students, staff and the wider community to undertake walking and wheeling as part of their regular journeys. Good organisational and communication skills are a must whilst being familiar with social and printed media.
In addition, the role will also work with existing staff in the Transition University of St Andrews to deliver a coordinated programme aimed at encouraging the uptake of sustainable behaviors across the University and local community.
The post is based within the Transition University of St Andrews team within the Estates department and the holder will report to the Transition UStA Manager.
