Automotive Parts Adviser
Job Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Automotive Parts Adviser to join our team. The successful candidate will assist customers and technicians in identifying, sourcing, and supplying the correct automotive parts and accessories. This role requires excellent product knowledge, strong communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist customers, technicians, and trade clients with parts enquiries in person, over the phone, and via email.
- Identify the correct vehicle parts using electronic parts catalogues and manufacturer systems.
- Process customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain stock levels by receiving, checking, storing, and replenishing inventory.
- Pick, pack, and prepare parts for collection or delivery.
- Monitor stock shortages and place orders with suppliers as required.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and update stock management systems.
- Process returns, warranty claims, and exchanges in accordance with company procedures.
- Promote additional products and accessories where appropriate to maximise sales opportunities.
- Ensure the parts department is clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety standards.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
Skills and ExperienceEssential
- Previous experience in an automotive parts, motor factor, dealership, or similar environment.
- Good knowledge of vehicle components and automotive systems.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability.
- Computer literacy and experience using stock control or parts catalogue systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
- Experience with manufacturer electronic parts catalogues (EPC).
- Knowledge of inventory management systems.
- Forklift licence (where applicable).
- Full UK driving licence.

Working Conditions

Pay: £28,500.00-£30,000.00 per year
