Housekeeping Assistant (Maternity Cover)
Perran Bay Care Home is looking for a caring and reliable Housekeeping Assistant to join our friendly team on a maternity cover contract.
As part of our housekeeping team, you'll play a vital role in creating a clean, safe and welcoming environment for our residents, visitors and staff. Your work will have a direct impact on the comfort and wellbeing of those who live in our home.
Hours: 20 hours per week over 4 days, including alternate weekends. The shifts are 9am-2pm. Overtime may be available.
Contract: Starting 7 September 2026 until the end of maternity leave, expected to be 4 July 2027.
Key responsibilities:
- Clean resident bedrooms, communal areas and facilities to a high standard.
- Follow infection control and health & safety procedures.
- Assist with laundry duties when required.
- Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies.
- Report any maintenance issues.
- Help maintain a warm, comfortable environment for residents.
About you:
- Previous housekeeping, commercial cleaning or janitorial experience is preferred.
- Experience in a care home, hospital or healthcare setting is desirable.
- Good understanding of infection control practices.
- Reliable, organised and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- A caring nature, keen eye for detail and a commitment to treating older people with dignity and respect.
