Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated Apprentice Bricklayer/Labourer to join our construction team. This entry-level position offers valuable hands-on experience in masonry and general building activities. The successful candidate will assist skilled tradespeople in various tasks, gaining practical skills in bricklaying, masonry, and related trades. Responsibilities
- Assist with mixing and applying mortar for bricklaying and masonry work
- Handle hand tools, power tools, and basic carpentry equipment safely and efficiently
- Support the team in laying bricks, blocks, and other masonry materials according to specifications
- Help with site preparation, including clearing debris and organising materials
- Assist with roofing tasks, including installing roof tiles or sheets where required
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment to ensure safety standards are met
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times during operations
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment preferred but not essential; training will be provided
- Interest in masonry, bricklaying, carpentry, roofing.
- Ability to work as part of a team in a physically demanding environment
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to learn new skills and undertake on-the-job training
- Reliable with a strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Previous experience in construction or related trades is advantageous but not required
