Job Summary
Gower View Foods is recruiting a Quality Assurance Technician to join our technical team at our dairy manufacturing site in Cross Hands.
Working across our production and packing areas, you will help ensure our products meet the required food safety, quality and customer standards. This is a hands-on position involving factory inspections, product testing, production monitoring and maintaining quality records.
The role would suit someone with experience in food manufacturing, quality assurance, production or a related environment. Relevant training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Inspect production lines and complete checks before, during and after manufacturing.
- Assess raw materials, packaging and finished products against agreed specifications.
- Carry out routine testing, including product temperatures, pH, weights, packaging seals, date codes and appearance.
- Monitor hygiene standards, staff practices and food safety controls within production areas.
- Identify quality concerns, investigate deviations and report findings to the appropriate managers.
- Ensure affected products or materials are placed on hold where necessary.
- Collect product, environmental and hygiene samples for testing.
- Maintain accurate production, quality and traceability records.
- Check that testing equipment is correctly maintained and calibrated.
- Assist with internal inspections, customer audits and food safety investigations.
- Work closely with production, hygiene and technical colleagues to resolve issues and maintain standards.
- Support compliance with HACCP, allergen management and foreign-body controls.
Skills
- Good attention to detail and a practical approach to problem-solving.
- Confidence communicating with colleagues and raising concerns when required.
- Ability to maintain clear, accurate records.
- Basic knowledge of food hygiene and food safety procedures would be beneficial.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel or electronic record systems is an advantage.
- A Level 2 Food Safety qualification is desirable but not essential.
- Reliability, good organisation and the ability to work independently.
