Assistant Quantity Surveyor Opportunity with the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), Supporting Sizewell C
As part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), you will support the building of Sizewell C. Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years. This role will be within the Main Civil Works Section.
What will you do?
- Supporting the commercial management of Main Civil Works packages across the project
- Measuring, recording and valuing completed works in accordance with project procedures
- Assisting with the preparation of cost reports, cost reconciliations and value reporting
- Gathering and analysing cost information to support commercial decision-making
- Supporting subcontractor management, including measurement of works and agreement of valuations
- Assisting with procurement activities and the preparation of supporting documentation
- Maintaining accurate commercial records and project documentation
- Using project systems and commercial tools to support cost and performance management
- Contributing to weekly and monthly reporting activities
- Supporting the wider commercial team to ensure project objectives are achieved
What are we looking for?
- Degree qualified (or working towards completion) in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- Understanding of quantity surveying principles and commercial management within construction or infrastructure projects
- Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships
- A proactive approach with a willingness to learn and develop
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative project environment
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications
- Desire to work towards professional membership with RICS, CIOB or ICES
