Deputy Nursery Manager – Little Willows Kindergarten
Little Willows Kindergarten is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and dedicated Deputy Nursery Manager to support the day-to-day running of our nursery.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious early years professional who is passionate about providing exceptional childcare and supporting a team to deliver outstanding learning experiences. Working closely with the Nursery Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring the nursery operates to the highest standards while creating a warm, safe, and nurturing environment where every child can flourish.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Nursery Manager with the day-to-day leadership and management of the nursery.
- Take responsibility for the nursery in the Manager's absence, ensuring the smooth running of the setting.
- Lead, motivate, and support the nursery team, promoting a positive, collaborative, and high-performing culture.
- Ensure a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment where every child can learn, develop, and thrive.
- Maintain the highest standards of safeguarding, welfare, health & safety, and hygiene throughout the nursery.
- Support staff through coaching, supervision, inductions, appraisals, and ongoing professional development.
- Monitor children's learning and development in line with the EYFS Framework.
- Build positive relationships with parents, carers, and external professionals, encouraging strong parent partnerships.
- Assist with staffing, rotas, recruitment, administration, occupancy, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with EYFS, Ofsted requirements, nursery policies, and all relevant legislation.
- Support the maintenance of children's records, personnel files, and other nursery documentation.
- Assist with promoting the nursery within the local community and supporting occupancy through marketing initiatives.
- Help maintain high standards across the nursery, ensuring the environment is welcoming, well-resourced, and inspiring.
About You
We're looking for someone who is passionate about early years education and ready to take the next step in their leadership career.
You will have:
- A Level 3 Early Years qualification or above.
- A Level 2 Maths qualification (or willingness to achieve this).
- Previous experience in a senior room leader, third-in-charge, deputy manager, or management role within an early years setting.
- Excellent knowledge of the EYFS Framework, Ofsted requirements, and safeguarding legislation.
- A current safeguarding qualification.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
- A genuine passion for delivering outstanding childcare and supporting children's learning and development.
- The ability to inspire, motivate, and develop others.
- A commitment to continuous professional development and maintaining high standards throughout the nursery.
