The Opportunity
We are looking for Civil Engineering Technicians to join our established Civil Engineering team in London. Our team forms part of Arup’s Energy, Water and Resources (EWR) South group which consists of approximately 130 engineers and technicians. Together we deliver work in a variety of markets such as Transport, Energy, Water, Industry, Science and Property.
The role will focus on preparing high-quality civil engineering deliverables, including technical drawings, models, presentations and reports, while working closely with engineers and other professional disciplines. The successful candidate will also have opportunities to contribute to client meetings, bids, business development and wider technical initiatives.
This is a strong opportunity for someone looking to develop their careers within a large, multidisciplinary and technically focused team. The key requirements are strong hands-on experience with AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D, alongside technical experience in areas such as earthworks, roads, public realm, utilities, flood risk or drainage.

Reporting to the Civil Engineering South Team Leader, you will be responsible for
- Preparing technical deliverables for civil engineering projects including drawings, models, presentations as well as short written reports
- Supporting the delivery of projects which may including attending client meetings, producing bid documents and general business development activities
- Contributing to a culture of technical excellence and the development of technical skills within the wider team through planning and delivery of initiatives and training
- Embracing our Culture, Equity and Inclusion strategy and vision, both through your own behaviour and influencing others
Is this role right for you?
Highly motivated individuals who have achieved or are working towards a relevant professional qualification, such as EngTech MICE or equivalent.
Your qualifications, skills and experience will include:
- Strong AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D skills are essential, with experience in tools such as Revit, Navisworks, Bentley 3D AECOsim, MicroDrainage or GIS a great advantage.
- Relevant civil engineering experience across areas such as earthworks, roads and streets, public realm, utilities, flood risk or drainage.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the confidence to collaborate with clients, colleagues and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Strong organisational and project delivery skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality work to time and budget.
- A collaborative and supportive approach, with the ability to mentor junior colleagues and contribute to their technical development.
- A passion for technical excellence and continuous improvement, with a genuine interest in delivering high-quality, innovative civil engineering solutions.
