Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescribed medications
- Verify medication labels, dosages, and patient information to prevent errors
- Assist with medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper handling and storage
- Provide excellent patient care by answering medication-related questions and offering guidance on proper usage
- Maintain detailed records of dispensed medications, inventory levels, and patient interactions
- Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare professionals to ensure safe medication practices
- Follow all safety procedures, including proper handling of controlled substances and hazardous materials
Experience
- Prior experience as a Dispenser in a similar role is highly preferred
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and patient care practices is essential
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills are required to ensure accuracy in dispensing processes
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members
- Familiarity with GP Surgery software system emis and Dispensit is advantageous
