Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. Duties
- Assist the Head Chef in planning and developing menus that meet quality standards and customer preferences
- Supervise and manage kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient operations
- Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring consistency and excellence in every dish served
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery and customer satisfaction
- Monitor inventory levels, place orders for supplies, and manage stock rotation to minimise waste
- Ensure all dishes are prepared in accordance with recipes and presentation standards
- Support the training of new team members to uphold the organisation’s culinary standards
Skills
- Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen or restaurant environment
- Strong background in food production, cooking, and food preparation techniques
- Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster a positive working environment
- Sound knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hospitality settings
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to oversee multiple tasks efficiently under pressure
- Experience in restaurant service including serving customers when necessary
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and quality control
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the hospitality industry
