As the Lead Centre for Paediatric Intensive Care services for the West Midlands we care for critically ill children from a wide range of specialties including cardiac, ECMO, liver, medical, oncology, renal, surgery, neuro and trauma.

No critical care placement experience is necessary as we provide a fantastic 12 month educational foundation program, which runs alongside the trust NQN preceptorship program.
As a newly qualified band 5 nurse your job will be:
To provide high quality care for the child and family in a safe and professional environment.
To ensure family integrated care is promoted by working in partnership with the child and family.
All staff on PICU are supported to develop professional expertise within the paediatric critical care environment. Continuing professional development will support NMC requirements along with meeting the service need.
As a newly qualified staff nurse you will be expected to care for level 3 children within the intensive care setting. You will be responsible for full nursing care delivery, working as a part of the multi disciplinary team in partnership with families.
You will be expected to cover a range of shifts including nights, weekends and day shifts including over bank holidays.
