Driver Trainer & Compliance Officer
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Driver Trainer & Compliance Officer to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for driver recruitment, training, compliance monitoring, and performance improvement, ensuring the highest standards of safety and efficiency across our fleet.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver driver recruitment, assessment, induction, and ongoing training (including ECO driving and equipment use)
- Monitor driver performance, fuel efficiency (MPG), and compliance with tachograph regulations
- Investigate driver-related incidents and damages, providing reports and recommendations to management
- Track and manage driver infringements, ensuring fair and consistent follow-up actions
- Produce performance reports, fuel league tables, and training feedback for management
- Support operational needs including vehicle movements, breakdown assistance, and depot activities
- Develop training materials, digital records, and driver performance tracking systems
- Travel to our other depot locations within Ireland to provide training and support
Essential Requirements
- Driver or TM CPC qualification
- Strong knowledge of driver tachograph rules and vehicle compliance
- Full clean HGV license (over 25) with minimum 2 years’ experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Competent in Microsoft Word and Excel
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a driver trainer or similar role
- Mechanical or vehicle maintenance knowledge advantageous
- Transport industry experience
- Knowledge of refrigeration units' operation (Thermoking, Carrier Vector, etc.)
- Adaptable and proactive approach to support business growth
