Part-Time Cook – Care Home
Location: Barnet / Enfield Borders
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:30am – 2:30pm (25 hours per week)
We are looking for a reliable and friendly Cook to join our welcoming care home team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys preparing fresh, home-cooked meals in a calm and supportive environment.
The Role
You will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious, traditional home-cooked meals for approximately 16 residents and a small number of staff. This is a lone-working position, so you'll need to be confident managing the kitchen independently while maintaining high standards of food hygiene and cleanliness.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook daily home-style meals
- Plan and manage the daily kitchen routine
- Maintain excellent food hygiene and health & safety standards
- Keep the kitchen clean, organised and well stocked
- Cater for any dietary requirements where needed
Hours
- Monday to Friday
- 9:30am – 2:30pm
- Occasional weekend cover may be required when the regular weekend cook is on annual leave.
About You
- Previous experience as a Cook, Care Home Cook, School Cook, Kitchen Cook or similar
- Able to work independently
- Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards
- Friendly, dependable and organised
- A Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable but not essential
