Are you a skilled Fleet Mechanic looking for your next challenge? We're looking for an experienced and proactive individual to join our transport operation and help keep our fleet running safely, efficiently, and compliantly.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a fleet of commercial and refrigerated vehicles, carrying out maintenance, repairs, and PMI inspections while supporting the smooth running of our delivery operation. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring vehicles remain roadworthy, minimising downtime, and helping us deliver outstanding service to our customers every day.
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: Full Time

Carrying out routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on the company fleet.

Diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical, and technical faults.

Completing PMI (Preventative Maintenance Inspection) checks to ensure vehicles remain roadworthy and compliant.

Preparing vehicles for MOT inspections and ensuring compliance with VOSA/DVSA regulations.

Coordinating repairs and maintenance with external providers, including fleet suppliers, MOT garages, and recovery operators.

Prioritising vehicle repairs to maximise fleet availability and minimise downtime.

Maintaining accurate records of inspections, servicing, repairs, and compliance documentation.

Working closely with the Transport Team to ensure the fleet remains operational, compliant, and efficient.
What We're Looking For

Relevant vehicle maintenance qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent).

Experience servicing, maintaining, and repairing commercial vehicles.

Experience carrying out PMI vehicle inspections.

Good understanding of VOSA/DVSA compliance legislation and vehicle maintenance standards.

Experience working with a refrigerated fleet is essential.

Refrigeration engineering experience would be highly advantageous.

Full UK Driving Licence.

HGV Licence (Class 1 or Class 2) and/or MOT Tester qualification desirable.

Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
