Job Description
Homely Supported Living is seeking an experienced, motivated and compassionate Service Manager to oversee the day-to-day operation of our supported-living services.
The successful candidate will ensure that individuals receive safe, effective and person-centred support in accordance with CQC requirements, safeguarding procedures and organisational policies. You will lead and support staff teams, maintain high standards of documentation and promote independence, choice, dignity and positive outcomes for the people we support.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operation of assigned supported-living services.
- Ensure the delivery of safe, effective and person-centred support.
- Lead, supervise and support Senior Support Workers and Support Workers.
- Prepare and manage staff rotas to maintain safe staffing levels.
- Conduct staff supervisions, probation reviews and performance meetings.
- Support staff recruitment, induction, training and competency assessments.
- Ensure compliance with CQC requirements, safeguarding procedures and company policies.
- Maintain accurate care plans, risk assessments and support documentation.
- Monitor medication administration records and ensure safe medication practices.
- Review incidents, accidents, complaints and safeguarding concerns, taking appropriate action.
- Complete regular service audits, quality checks and improvement plans.
- Ensure service-user finances and records are managed safely and accurately.
- Work closely with service users, families, healthcare professionals, local authorities and other stakeholders.
- Promote service-user independence, community participation, dignity and informed choice.
- Support CQC inspections and provide requested records and evidence.
- Manage staff conduct, capability, attendance and performance concerns appropriately.
- Participate in the management on-call rota when required.
- Report service performance, risks and concerns to the Registered Manager or senior management.
- Carry out other reasonable duties consistent with the Service Manager role.
Requirements
- At least three years’ experience in supported living, social care or a similar care environment.
- Previous experience managing a supported-living service or care team.
- Strong knowledge of CQC requirements and the Health and Social Care Act.
- Sound understanding of safeguarding, medication management, risk assessment, the Mental Capacity Act and person-centred support.
- Experience conducting staff supervision, audits and performance monitoring.
- Strong leadership, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and respond effectively to emergencies.
- Confidence using electronic care-planning and record-management systems.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care, or willingness to work towards it.
- A full UK driving licence is desirable.
Pay: £30,000.00-£34,000.00 per year
