Job Summary
The Workplace Health Sales Consultant will generate, develop and convert new workplace health sales opportunities into contracted customers through a consultative sales approach. The role will manage prospects from lead generation and qualification through to proposal development, commercial negotiation, contract closure and handover, while working with marketing and internal stakeholders to build a strong pipeline and support revenue and margin growth.
Duties
- Lead generation and pipeline development. Identify, procure and qualify new workplace health opportunities across target employer markets, using networking, referrals, marketing activity, market intelligence and direct outreach to build a strong, high-quality sales pipeline.
- Sales conversion and CRM management. Manage prospects from enquiry to close, maintaining accurate CRM records, progressing opportunities effectively and ensuring timely follow-up to maximise conversion.
- Consultative client engagement. Understand prospect needs, business drivers, workforce health risks and desired outcomes, positioning relevant workplace health solutions in a clear and credible way.
- Proposal development. Work with internal stakeholders to develop proposals that meet client needs, support commercial objectives and remain aligned to governance and approval frameworks.
- Contracting, closure and handover. Lead prospects through commercial terms, service specification, contract completion and onboarding requirements, securing signed agreements and ensuring a smooth handover to operational teams.
- Tender, bid and presentation support. Support formal tenders, bids and procurement-led opportunities, coordinating internal input and contributing to professional submissions and client-facing presentations.
- Cross-sell, up-sell and marketing collaboration. Identify appropriate cross-sell and up-sell opportunities and work with marketing to support campaigns, events, webinars and outreach activity that generate and convert quality leads.
- Relationship, market and competitor awareness. Build trusted prospect relationships and maintain an informed understanding of workplace health, employee wellbeing, occupational health buyer needs, competitor activity and opportunities for service growth.
Skills & Attributes Required
- Proven business development or consultative sales experience, ideally within occupational health, employee wellbeing, healthcare, insurance or another B2B service environment.
- Understanding of employer health, wellbeing, absence management and organisational resilience needs, with awareness of relevant UK workplace health considerations.
- Strong prospecting, lead generation and consultative selling skills, with the confidence to engage new client organisations, understand their needs and position relevant solutions.
- Ability to manage a sales pipeline, maintain accurate CRM records, track activity and progress opportunities from enquiry to signed contract.
- Commercial awareness, including the ability to support proposals, pricing discussions, tender responses, contract coordination and client-facing presentations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including clear prospect communications, proposals and internal handover notes.
- Ability to work collaboratively with marketing, clinical, operational and senior stakeholders to support lead generation, client conversion and onboarding.
- Confident using AI, CRM, sales reporting and marketing insight tools to improve productivity, communication and sales performance.
- High attention to detail and a professional approach to handling client information, commercial documentation and contractual requirements.
