Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organised Parish Clerk/RFO to join our local council team. This role involves managing administrative duties, financial records, and providing excellent customer service to residents and stakeholders. Responsibilities
- Managing the parish council’s administrative functions, including preparing agendas, minutes, and reports.
- Overseeing financial administration, including budgeting, accounting, and maintaining accurate financial records using Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
- Handling correspondence with residents, organisations, and external agencies via email and phone, ensuring clear and professional communication.
- Organising meetings, events, and community engagement activities; preparing presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Maintaining up-to-date records of council assets, policies, and statutory documentation in accordance with legal requirements.
- Managing the council’s digital platforms and ensuring effective utilisation of IT tools such as Microsoft Outlook and Word.
- Providing excellent customer service by addressing enquiries promptly and professionally.
- Supporting the preparation of annual reports and financial statements for audit purposes.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations governing local authorities.
Skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in Turkish is desirable but not essential.
- Proven experience in office administration or clerical roles within a similar setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Good IT skills with the ability to adapt to new software or systems as required.
- Customer service orientation with a friendly and professional manner.
- Attention to detail when managing financial records and documentation.
- Ability to work independently whilst also collaborating effectively within a team environment.

Pay: From £30,000.00 per year
