UCL’s Faculty of Laws is a dynamic, highly respected and friendly community, which enjoys global recognition for the quality of its teaching and research. For almost 200 years, UCL Laws has been one of the leading centres of legal education in the world. Recognised as offering an outstanding educational experience to our students, we combine a strong theoretical foundation in the law with practical teaching from world-leading academics and practitioners.
The Faculty of Laws Professional Services Team is a highly respected group of colleagues who are valued for their professionalism and collegiality. They have strong working relationships across the Faculty, applying a highly effective team working culture which allows each member to contribute and develop.
We are recruiting an Education Administrator (Taught Programmes), as a key member of the Faculty of Laws Education and Student Experience team, based in the Undergraduate Taught Programmes office. The team is responsible for the delivery of a high quality, student-centred administration which supports the full student lifecycle of undergraduate law degrees. The role will provide key operational support across teaching and learning functions including responding to student queries, induction, attendance and engagement monitoring, module planning, enrolment and timetabling, assessment and examinations, academic regulations and provision of advice and support to staff and students. The role holder will assist in providing a high quality and timely service to students and staff. The role holder will be expected to support work across both undergraduate and postgraduate taught teams where appropriate, especially in respect of streamlining processes.
This role is offered on a full-time basis, fixed term until 31 May 2027 to provide cover for the substantive postholder.
This role does not meet the requirements for a Skilled worker visa certificate of sponsorship under UK Visas and Immigration legislation. UCL will not be able to sponsor individuals who require a right to work in the UK.
The successful candidate should have experience in an administrative role within higher/further education in a teaching and learning environment and have excellent computer skills. As a strong team player, the Education Administrator will have excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, as well as the ability to work to deadlines calmly under pressure, with close attention to detail and a flexible approach to changing priorities.
With a commitment to high quality service standards and a customer-focused outlook, the role holder will use their initiative to solve problems and take a proactive approach in providing a high-quality support service for students and staff. They will be comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively with colleagues.
