An exciting opportunity as arisen to join a new independent bakery led cafe.
We are looking for an experienced Baker/ Brunch Chef who is kitchen led to help launch and develop a destination cafe serving freshly made cakes, traybakes, freshly baked pastries, brunch dishes, sandwiches and afternoon teas.
This is a key role within the business and would suit someone who enjoys baking and cooking and who is capable of working independently while maintaining high standards.
Responsibilities:
- Producing cakes, traybakes, brownies, seasonal bakes
- Baking and finishing pastries, scones and savoury items
- Preparing brunch dishes to high standards
- Producing sandwiches and fillings
- Managing day to day kitchen operations
- Maintaining excellent food hygiene and food safety standards
- Assisting with stock ordering and stock control
- Contributing ideas for seasonal products and menu development
About you:
You will ideally have experience working within a cafe, bakery, tea room, farm shop or similar hospitality environment.
You should be:
- Able to work weekends and bank holidays
- Confident in baking
- Comfortable cooking breakfasts
- Organised and able to work independently
- Reliable, positive and hard working
- Able to take ownership of the kitchen
- Good time keeping
