Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role involves overseeing food preparation, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained at all times. The Chef will play a pivotal role in creating innovative menus and fostering a positive, efficient kitchen environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team, ensuring smooth daily operations and high standards of service
- Oversee food production, ensuring dishes are prepared to specifications and presented attractively
- Manage food safety protocols, maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations
- Develop and innovate menu items in collaboration with management, considering seasonality and customer preferences
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and minimise waste to optimise kitchen efficiency
- Train and mentor junior staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement
- Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in accordance with hygiene standards
- Assist in serving guests during busy periods, providing excellent hospitality experience
Requirements
- Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality environment
- Strong supervisory and team management skills with previous leadership experience in a culinary setting
- Extensive knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure
- Demonstrated ability to develop creative menus that appeal to diverse clientele
- Good understanding of hospitality operations including serving procedures and customer service excellence
- Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are preferred but not essential for highly experienced candidates
- A passion for culinary arts, innovation, and delivering outstanding guest experiences
Pay: £12.71-£19.28 per hour
