About the Role
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To provide Cover Supervision for classes in the absence of the teacher which will involve:
- Communicating the work set by the class teacher to the students.
- Following the instructions set by the class teacher.
- Motivating students to complete the tasks set.
- Classroom management and organisation.
2. Invigilation of examinations.
3. Accompanying staff on educational visits.
4. Assistance with administration and departmental support.
5. To observe Health and Safety Regulations.
6. To be an appointed first aider on school trips (a qualification is necessary which the school will arrange).
7. To uphold school rules school ethos at all times and to promote positive student behaviour and conduct in line with the schools Responsibility for Learning (R4L) policy.
8. Other duties as required.
Job Details
Salary: Grade 5 Points 7–8 (£26,403 - £26,824)
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Pattern: 8.30am - 3.30pm daily, Term Time Only
Location: Horsham, West Sussex

What You Need to Succeed
We are looking for someone who is well organised, self-confident and with good communication / inter-personal skills who is interested in working with enthusiastic young people.
As a valued member of our support staff, you will supervise classes when a teacher is absent, accompany staff on school trips and assist with examination invigilation. You will also act as a back-up First Aider (training will be given). There is also scope for other supporting work such as helping in specific departments. Please note, you will not teach. A fully comprehensive training programme will be provided for this varied and very interesting role.
