Responsibilities
- To provide leadership to the administration, care and nursing, catering, housekeeping, laundry, maintenance and people management functions of the service
- To ensure people who use our services receive the highest standards of person-centred care appropriate to their assessed needs
- To carry out, and provide leadership in marketing the service, and selling its services at the agreed prices
- To maintain the operations of the service at the standard agreed, within the financial budget or other parameters set by Nursing Home
- Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of those individuals supported by the service
- To undertake on-call requirements as necessary.
- To deploy team members efficiently in relation to care duties to be covered.
- To hold department and whole home team meetings and ensure minutes are taken
- To undertake meetings with relatives and people who use our services, and ensure the recording of minutes.
- To maintain and promote relationships with GPs, ICBs’, Care Managers and representatives of CQC.
- To market and promote the Home and maintain high occupancy levels.
- To ensure that any vacant rooms are ready for viewing by prospective clients at all times.
- To adhere to the Safeguarding of Adults multi agency guidelines.
- To participate in inspections by CQC, Environmental Health and other external regulatory agencies.
- To instigate immediate investigations into any complaint and report the complaint to the nominated individual/ provider.
- To ensure all policies and procedures are monitored and regularly reviewed.
- To work with nominated individual/ provider in the development of and adherence to a service improvement plan for the Home.
- To implement the Grievance and Disciplinary Procedures in liaison with the Operations Manager
- To ensure maintenance of a safe and healthy working environment by adherence to Health and Safety policies, procedures and regulations.
- To maintain Infection Control procedures and monitor that these are adhered to at all times.
- To implement and maintain COSHH regulations for storage and use of chemicals.
- To ensure all accidents and incidents are documented, maintaining RIDDOR reporting requirements as requested.
- To ensure fire safety is maintained and fire exits are free from obstruction
- Oversee the process of obtaining continuous feedback from residents, families, professional partners and team members and use results to inform improvement actions or celebrate excellence.
- Utilise Lessons Learned as a valuable tool for sharing information, promoting continuous improvement and upholding the safety of both residents and teams.
- Qualifications
- Proven management experience within a nursing care setting.
- Strong knowledge of dementia and elderly care.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to develop effective care plans and manage staff performance.
- Relevant qualifications in healthcare management or social care.
- Experience with medication administration and regulatory compliance.
- Passionate about providing compassionate, person-centered care.
Pay: £50,000.00-£65,000.00 per year
