Role Overview
We are looking for a Production Operative to train in composites manufacturing and general assembly work within the busy manufacturing side of our business, based in Stoke on Trent, UK.
Any experience in general assembly work or a manufacturing environment would be an advantage but is not essential as full training will be provided. What is essential is good practical skills, manual dexterity, attention to detail and a desire to do skilled hands-on work.
The successful candidate will have an enthusiastic attitude to learning new skills and thrive on producing high quality work in a fast-paced environment.
Job Description
As a Production Operative in our manufacturing department, you will be working with high-tech composite materials such as carbon fibre to produce products where quality and accuracy are critical. The work will include cutting and positioning carbon fabrics, core materials and vacuum bagging consumables, mixing resins and running vacuum cycles.
On the assembly side you will be working in a small team on mechanical and electrical assembly of composites processing equipment such as ovens and vacuum pumps and systems.
This is a practical, hands-on role which will involve being on your feet most of the day and using PPE where appropriate.
Key Responsibilities
· Accurately cutting and positioning carbon fibre reinforcement.
· Vacuum bagging the laminated materials ready for cure.
· Mixing resins and operating vacuum cycles.
· Visually inspecting manufactured products for quality/defects.
· Light assembly work of products such as vacuum equipment and ovens.
· Basic electrical assembly work (wiring looms/connectors etc.)
· Maintaining a clean, tidy and organised work environment.
Required Skills
· Excellent manual dexterity and general practical skills.
· Good work ethic and reliability.
· Ability to learn new skills.
· Attention to detail.
· Strong commitment to health and safety in the workplace.
Advantageous Skills & Experience
· Experience working in manufacturing or production environment.
· Experience of electrical or mechanical assembly.
Employment Details
· Hourly rate £13.45/hr
· The position is full time (37.5hrs/week) and permanent.
· Based in our modern industrial unit in Stoke-on-Trent.
· Working hours are Mon-Fri, 8am to 4pm.
· Potential for overtime.
· Company pension.
· On-site parking.
