Subsea7 is looking for a motivated SCM Subcontract/Category Specialist to join our UK & Global IRM team, based out of the Westhill, Aberdeen office.
This is a great opportunity to work in a fast‑paced, global environment where you will focus primarily on tendering work. In this role, you will have the opportunity to support major tenders by developing sourcing strategies, engaging with key suppliers, and delivering competitive commercial solutions that contribute to successful bid outcomes.
Whether you come from a commercial or technical background, we’ll help you grow your contract and commercial management skills.

What will you be doing?
The role of SCM Subcontract/Category Specialist will be highly varied, but some of the key responsibilities include:
Support the end-to-end tendering process by developing sourcing strategies and coordinating supplier engagement activities.
Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers to support competitive bidding and project requirements.
Prepare and issue RFQs ensuring compliance with company procurement policies and client requirements.
Analyse supplier quotations, commercial proposals, and total cost of ownership models to support bid competitiveness.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Tendering, Engineering, Operations, and QHSE teams to define procurement scopes and sourcing requirements.
Conduct commercial negotiations with suppliers to secure optimal pricing, delivery schedules, and contractual terms.
Assess supply chain risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure continuity of supply and project delivery.
Support the preparation of bid submissions through the provision of sourcing plans, supplier commitments, and commercial recommendations.
Monitor market trends, commodity fluctuations, and supplier performance to identify cost-saving and value creation opportunities.
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to support long-term strategic objectives and future tender opportunities.
Facilitate supplier clarifications and manage commercial queries during the tendering phase.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives within tendering and procurement processes to enhance efficiency and bid success rates.
What experience would we like you to have?

Demonstrable experience or working knowledge of supply chain management in a relevant or transferable role and industry.
Good communication skills and ability to demonstrate effective negotiation skills and supplier management.
Detail‑focused, organised, and able to manage multiple deadlines.
Proficient in MS Office; SAP / SAP Ariba experience welcomed.
CIPS or equivalent qualification welcomed.
Motivated, solutions-driven mindset committed to continuous improvement.
Demonstrable experience working with shifting deadlines, collaborative, and comfortable working in a busy global environment.
