Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Deli Manager to lead our deli team and oversee daily operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for food preparation. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage a busy deli section, ensuring high standards of food safety, quality, and customer service. The successful applicant will be responsible for supervising staff, maintaining operational efficiency, and delivering exceptional culinary experiences to our customers.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily running of the deli, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation of deli items
- Supervise and manage the deli team, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth operations
- Ensure all food safety standards and hygiene regulations are strictly adhered to at all times
- Coordinate with suppliers to maintain stock levels and order supplies as needed
- Develop and implement efficient workflow processes to optimise productivity
- Train new staff members on food production techniques, safety procedures, and customer service standards
- Monitor quality control to ensure all products meet company specifications and customer expectations
- Manage customer interactions professionally, addressing any concerns or special requests with courtesy and efficiency
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the deli area in accordance with health regulations
Experience
- Proven supervising experience within a restaurant, hospitality, or food retail environment
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations
- Experience in team management and leadership roles within a busy food service setting
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in food production
- Previous experience working in a hotel or barista environment is advantageous but not essential
- Familiarity with serving customers in a hospitality context is desirable
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining high standards of service and quality
