We are looking for a reliable and compassionate Personal Assistant to join a small, friendly care team. You will be working alongside an existing PA to provide essential support within a lively, animal-loving home. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys a varied routine and feels right at home surrounded by nature—both the furry and the many-legged variety!
The Role & Environment
This position involves working in a unique household shared with a Chihuahua, several cats, and chickens, alongside a large collection of spiders, invertebrates, dart frogs and two snakes. While the snakes and spiders are safely housed in secure enclosures and do not require feeding or handling, you must be entirely comfortable working in their presence. An interest in invertebrates is a wonderful bonus!
Key Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assisting with daily routines and personal care needs with dignity.
- Medication & Meals: Supporting with regular medication and preparing fresh meals and drinks.
- Housekeeping: General domestic tasks including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a tidy home.
- Animal Care: Interacting with and providing general care for the dog and cats during your shifts.
- During Family Holidays (Respite): Feeding the dog, cats, and chickens. Hours & Flexibility
- Contracted Hours: A guaranteed minimum of 13 hours per week.
- Shift Patterns: You will need to cover a variety of shifts, including daytimes, evenings, and weekends.
- Holiday Cover: A key part of this role is providing respite cover when the family is away. These hours are paid at an enhanced rate and may involve additional overtime.
- Requirements
- Animal Enthusiast: You must genuinely love animals and be comfortable with everything from a Chihuahua to a tarantula.
- Reliable Team Player: You will be joining an existing support structure, so good communication and reliability are essential.
- Respectful & Professional: The ability to maintain boundaries and respect privacy within a family home is a must.
- Proactive: A "can-do" approach to both domestic chores and caregiving.
