Job Purpose
We are looking for a reliable Construction Labourer / Driver to support our site teams across a range of refurbishment, adaptation, retrofit and general building projects.
The role will involve general labouring duties on site, collecting and delivering materials, moving tools and equipment between sites, keeping work areas clean and safe, and assisting trades where required. The successful candidate must hold a valid driving licence and be comfortable driving company vehicles.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Carry out general labouring duties on construction and refurbishment sites.
- Assist tradespeople including joiners, plumbers, plasterers, electricians and other operatives as required.
- Load, unload and distribute materials, tools and equipment.
- Collect materials from suppliers and deliver them to site.
- Move waste and surplus materials from site to the company yard or approved waste facilities.
- Keep sites clean, tidy and free from unnecessary hazards.
- Protect residents’ homes and client properties using dust sheets, floor protection and care when moving materials.
- Set up and maintain basic site welfare and working areas where required.
- Assist with stripping out, lifting, carrying, preparation works and making good.
- Follow instructions from the Site Manager, Project Manager and trades on site.
- Complete basic checks of the company vehicle and report any defects.
- Ensure materials and equipment are transported safely and securely.
- Follow company health and safety procedures, RAMS and site-specific instructions.
- Wear PPE at all times where required.
- Represent the company in a polite and professional manner when dealing with residents, clients, suppliers and other contractors.
Skills and Experience
Essential:
- Full UK driving licence.
- Previous experience working on construction, refurbishment or maintenance sites.
- Good practical skills and a willingness to assist different trades.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team.
- Able to follow instructions and work safely.
- Physically fit and able to carry out manual handling duties.
- Good attitude towards customers, residents and other staff.
Desirable:
- CSCS card.
- Asbestos awareness training.
- Manual handling training.
- Experience working in occupied properties.
- Experience driving vans or tipper vehicles.
- Basic knowledge of tools, materials and site procedures.

Working Hours
Standard working hours are typically Monday to Thursday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, and Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm although flexibility may be required depending on site requirements, deliveries or project deadlines.

Pay: £13.00 per hour
