Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Sous Chef / Senior CDP to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a proven track record in food production within a fast-paced hospitality environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee kitchen operations, mentor junior staff, and contribute to the delivery of exceptional dining experiences. The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining high standards of food safety and quality, ensuring efficient kitchen management, and supporting the head chef in daily operations.
Duties
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of a diverse range of dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards
- Supervise and manage kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure smooth workflow
- Oversee food production processes, ensuring consistency, quality, and timely delivery of all menu items
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all kitchen areas
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with stock ordering, and manage wastage effectively
- Collaborate with the team to develop new menu ideas and improve existing offerings
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and operated safely
- Support the head chef in planning menus, managing staff rotas, and overseeing daily kitchen operations
- Uphold excellent customer service standards during service periods, including serving dishes when required
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a similar role within a reputable restaurant or hospitality setting
- Demonstrable supervising experience with team management responsibilities
- Extensive knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and culinary trends
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene management
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure
- Leadership qualities with a proactive approach to problem-solving and staff development
- Previous experience in food production, restaurant service, or hospitality environments is highly desirable
- A recognised culinary qualification or equivalent professional training is advantageous

The role is for 48 hours over 5 days (Wednesday-Sunday). Salary will be pro rata for 3 month contract.
Pay: £28,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
