Agricultural Service Engineer
Workshop-Based Initially | Main Dealer & Multi-Brand Machinery | Genuine Mechanical Work
Location: Llandow, Vale of Glamorgan
Pay: £14.00 – £18.50 per hour, depending on experience and ability
Job Type: Full-time, permanent
Overtime: Paid overtime available
Vehicle: Company vehicle available as the role progresses into independent mobile work
KP Agri Ltd is looking for an experienced Agricultural / Plant Service Engineer to join our busy workshop in Llandow.
This is a proper hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys fault-finding, diagnosing problems and repairing machinery properly — not simply changing parts until the problem goes away.
We are main dealers for several leading agricultural machinery manufacturers and also carry out selected mixed-brand repair work for a loyal customer base across South Wales and beyond.
The role will initially be mainly workshop-based, giving you time to get familiar with our machinery, systems, standards and customers. As you become familiar with the role and are able to work independently, it will progress into mobile servicing, repairs and breakdown support.
Main Dealer Brands
We represent:
KRONE | Teagle | Bauer | Trioliet | HORSCH | Dieci
You'll work on both new and used machinery from these manufacturers, carrying out servicing, diagnostics, mechanical repairs, preparation and warranty work where applicable.
Manufacturer training and support is available as part of the role.
Other Machinery We Regularly Work On
Alongside our franchise brands, we also work on selected customer-owned machinery.
Experience with manufacturers such as JCB, New Holland, Case IH and CLAAS would be a strong advantage.
This includes tractors, loaders and other agricultural machinery, with work ranging from modern diagnostics and electrical/hydraulic fault-finding through to genuine mechanical repairs on older machines.
We don't try to cover every make of machinery. We concentrate on our dealer franchises and selected brands where we have the knowledge and facilities to provide a proper service.
What You'll Be Doing
- Diagnosing, servicing and repairing agricultural machinery
- Mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault-finding
- Working on tractors, loaders, implements and dealer franchise machinery
- Preparing new and used machinery
- Carrying out workshop repairs, progressing into mobile and breakdown work
- Completing job cards accurately and on time
- Working safely, professionally and to a high standard
- Attending manufacturer and in-house training when required
What We're Looking For
- Strong hands-on mechanical experience
- Background in agricultural machinery, plant machinery or a similar field
- Ability to diagnose faults and think for yourself
- Confidence carrying out genuine mechanical repairs, not just routine servicing
- A practical approach and pride in doing a job properly
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Full UK driving licence
- Basic IT skills and ability to complete electronic job cards
This isn't an entry-level position. We're looking for someone with genuine mechanical experience who can develop into a trusted, independent member of our service team.
What You Get
- £14.00 – £18.50 per hour, depending on experience and ability
- Paid overtime
- Company vehicle as the role progresses into independent mobile work
- Up to 28 days' holiday, including Bank Holidays
- Company pension
- Ongoing manufacturer training and development
- Free on-site parking
- Store discount
- Varied work — from modern diagnostics to proper mechanical repairs
- The opportunity to work with leading agricultural machinery brands
- A family-run business — straight talking, practical and no corporate nonsense
