Make a Difference for Children and Families Across the Isle of Wight
Barnardo's is looking for a passionate, proactive, and community-focused Family Hub Community Early Help Worker to join our successful Isle of Wight Family Hub team.
Since 2015, Barnardo's has proudly delivered Early Help family Hub services across the Isle of Wight, supporting children, young people, and families to thrive. Following the successful extension of our contract in 2021, we continue to provide a wide range of family support services through our network of Family Hubs and community locations across the Island.
With three main Family Hubs and additional family centre spokes located across the Island, we are committed to providing accessible, welcoming, and effective support to families when and where they need it most.

Working closely with families, health professionals, volunteers, and partner agencies, you will help parents access the right support at the right time, promoting positive family relationships, child development, school readiness, and healthy lifestyles.
This is a varied and rewarding role that combines direct work with families, community engagement, programme delivery, partnership working, and service development.

- Is confident building positive relationships with families and professionals.
- Has excellent communication, engagement, and organisational skills.
- Can work independently while contributing effectively within a team.
- Is passionate about improving outcomes for children and reducing inequalities.
- Is comfortable delivering group work, workshops, and community activities.
- Can effectively record information and demonstrate the impact of their work.
- Is flexible and responsive to the changing needs of families and communities.

Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be able to travel across the Isle of Wight regularly. There is a requirement to work from all three Family Hub localities throughout the week as service needs dictate.
Some evening and weekend working will be required. Time off in lieu will be provided in accordance with organisational policies.
Working hours are 24 hours a week days/times to be agreed.
