As a Complex Carer with Coyle Homecare, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to service users. You will be expected to fulfil the following responsibilities:
- Assist with personal care, daily living activities, nutrition, and safe mobility/transfers within the home and community.
- Safely administer medication and monitor health conditions, including blood glucose levels using a Libre sensor.
- Remain vigilant and responsive to changes in health, including seizure risks, diabetes, and adrenal insufficiency.
- Respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations, recognising early signs of deterioration and escalating appropriately.
- Provide emotional support, companionship, and encouragement to support wellbeing and independence.
- Support attendance at appointments and engagement in community activities.
- Maintain accurate and detailed care records.
- Work collaboratively with family members and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
To be considered for the role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Minimum of 6 months’ experience in complex care, healthcare, or supporting neurological conditions.
- Willingness and enthusiasm to learn new skills.
- Practical experience with medication administration and moving & handling.
- Strong observation and communication skills.
- Flexible and reliable approach to working 12-hour shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and rota patterns.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure or challenging medical situations.
- Understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality standards.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centered care.
In addition to the necessary job requirements, the following skills are desirable when working for Coyle Homecare:
- Experience with seizure management, stroke rehabilitation, or mental health support.
- Knowledge of diabetes care and glucose monitoring systems (e.g., Libre sensors).
- Experience supporting individuals with adrenal insufficiency.
