Every role contributes to that mission. As a Casual Hospitality & Catering Assistant, you’ll help create a welcoming, comfortable environment that supports visitors as they learn, explore, and connect with nature.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll help keep our visitor spaces clean, tidy, and ready for guests. This includes:

Cleaning and preparing bedrooms, bathrooms, and communal areas

Making beds, replenishing towels, and restocking tea/coffee facilities

Keeping public areas tidy, safe, and welcoming

Setting up the dining room for mealtimes

Supporting our kitchen team with food preparation and service

Helping keep dining and refreshment areas clean and stocked
You’ll be part of a team that works together to keep the centre running smoothly, we value team members who are happy to help wherever they’re needed.
Where you’ll be working
At our Field Studies Council Blencathra Centre, every working day begins with breathtaking views across the Lake District. Perched on the slopes of Blencathra, the centre welcomes thousands of visitors each year.
You’ll join a passionate, supportive team in a truly inspiring setting, where lunch breaks can mean a walk on the fellside and your work helps others connect with nature.
